The BMW ICOM A2 A3 NEXT drives we assign to our customers are generally AHCI-mode hard drives with SATA port.

If your laptop BIOS is not set to the same hard drive mode (AHCI mode), if you connected to our hard drive to your computer, there will be a blue screen or can not find the hard drive. Please make sure your HDD is set to AHCI in the BIOS.

To check this you turn the laptop on and press F2, it will enter the BIOS. Now go to “ONBOARD DEVICES” or “SYSTEM CONFIGURATION” then go to “SATA OPERATION” press enter and make sure its set to AHCI not ATA or any other option.

Change another computer, switch achi mode for your Dell laptop.

1. I  looks like it’s a remote system using a bluetooth and is good up to 5 meters away. It also looks like it only works for OBD2…1996 and newer.

Today, we’ll talk about DoIP support and MB STAR tools C4/C5/C6 from clone to original.

1.Popular version: MB SD Connect Compact 4

This one is one of the most stable quality in china, priced around 360usd.

it can support K and CAN and truck 24v,

but it can’t support DOIP. and also no DOIP cable.

2.Fake version: SDconnect C4 DOIPmux

Recently one factory added a DOIP PCB on the normal C4 for make it work for DOIP.

It does look like the original doip device. And priced about $600

But after test, it can’t support DOIP protocol.

it support K and CAN protocol, but it cannot support DOIP as they claimed.

and the package also doesn’t have a DOIP diagnostic cable.

so this one is same as normal one now. worthless!

3. Cheap version: MB SD Connect Compact 5 cheap one

Price about 336usd.

this one is a joke. it uses cheap C4 PCB, then insert it to a C5 case.

it work on K and CAN, but the factory quality not good, easy broken on 24 truck and not stable.

so this one also worthless.

4. Mercedes Benz DoIP Xentry Connect C5 real one

this one price about 1100usd.

this one is a 1:1 clone from original xentry VCI, the SSD software is in device, and with license in machine.

it complete support K-line CAN and DOIP protocol. The booting speed a little slow, but diagnostic speed is quick.

it can update use original DVD, and install all ADDONS, it support all mercedes until now. and can use in any laptop.

so, this is worth to buy until now. price is 1100usd and include license update 2year.

5. ECOM

this is a original device from ACTIA the price about 1000euro. it support CAN and DOIP, but didn’t support K-line.

diagnostic speed is quickly.

6. Xentry VCI

this is a Original Device from the dealer.

perfect support K + CAN + DOIP protocol.

the diagnostic speed is awesome

but very expensive

if it has any problem, price for fix is also much higher.

7. VXDIAG MB SD Connect C6

this is a vxdiag priced $458.

have tested on some cars like W205 and old,

it support K + CAN + DOIP protocol.

but the diagnostic speed is not so good as the original. but ok for the price,not sure can completely support all car K+CAN + DOIP.
the problem of this device is
(1) maybe not can full compatible for all mercedes like original device
(2) can’t update by yourself.
it made by J2534 and a little like VAS 6154 VXDIAG version.
if driver not update on time, it may can’t use on new software.
and this one update by HDD.
2 year update 4times update fee about 400usd.
it is ok to buy now.

Here, the conclusion is:

1. if you do not need DOIP functions, MB STAR C4 is your way to go..
2. if you want a DOIP device and you can easy get update DVD, have a xentry connect C5 1:1 clone of the original. update easy and original functions.
3. If you didn’t have budget, and you still want a doip, you can buy vxdiag c6.

What ‘s DoIP diagnostic technology:

Recently, I have been remapping a 2006 BMW M5 E60. I have heard the MPPS is not suitable for this ，so I decided to buy a better tool.

Not sure if I should go for a Galletto v54 or the Kess V2.

Any advice would be great, ideally I would like to get the one that covers most cars via OBD.

 User suggestion:

1. I use both, Kess v2 clone + Galletto v54 clone. But I prefer v 54 only because user fredliness and good working stability, no chance to suspend writing file or something else. Kess little bit fussy, and to much moronresistant and used only if V54 will not handle it but in plus a lot better for gasoline engines. V54 in 80% still needs rework after buying but after that works perfect
2. Buy both they are cheap enough get them reworked and then you have two good tools
3. Earlier FGTech Galetto 4 didn’t support MSS65 K-line ( E6x V10 Mpower ) . It can only read by CAN which is only LCI E6x . Not sure about kess and the latest Galletto version . Someone can double check please . Some chinese says kess is not working good with K-line .
4. I think it’s better to have boot clone tools they works on many units, about this ecu i think fg is the Best
5. Both of them have its pros and cons, it’s up to you to make decision.
6. I like like KessV2 is Safe, to work with them.
7. EU kess only sold by resellers of chinese clones…..do the maths
   buy both kess v2 and galletto v54 Chinese clone tools, have a play, decide which you like best software wise

    I use panasonic toughbook CF 19 and CF 52. – Never had a single problem with both of them .

1. How to use Lonsdor K518ISE to program key with the IMMO data?

Step 1. Connect Lonsdor K518ISE and computer using one USB cable, open “My Computer”, click on the portable device “K518”.

Step 2.Click on “Memory Device”.

Step 3.Rick click to open the folder “Customfile”, copy the VAG 4th IMMO data or MQB IMMO data, paste it into this folder.

Step 4.Enter K518 function menu, select “Immobilizer”, then ” 4th IMMO”.

Step 5.Select “4th engineering mode”.

Step 6.Select “Generate dealer key”.

Step 7.Select “Yes” to ensure the immo data(bin file) is put into the customfile folder of k518.

Note:

Require to dismantle the smart key module HFM to read D-FLASH D70F3633 data by programmer (VVDI Prog, Orange5 etc) then copy bin file to K518 “customfile” folder.

In K518, select Renault->Select from vehicle->Clio->Clio IV->2012 up->All key lost

Follow Lonsdor prompts to read HFM data and paste bin file to K518 customfile folder.

Select D-Flash D70F3633 bin file

Reading file data

Read data successfully

Read VIN and confirm

Lonsdor K518S Read Pin Code success

Insert key card into slot and turn on ignition

Switch ignition off and then turn on again

Program completed.  Continue to program next key card or quit

Test the new key, start engine

Test the remote control.
